Contrary to what reports have outed in the weeks since his injury, Los Angeles Lakers star Lebron James will play again this season, at least according to head coach Darvin Ham.

The four-time MVP has been on the sidelines since February 26, having suffered a right foot tendon injury against the Dallas Mavericks.

Even though the injury seemed to end his season, indicators have it that he will be back.

"We anticipate him coming back at some point," Ham said in the pre-match press conference before Lakers' 111-105 victory over Orlando Magic earlier on Monday.

The 49-year-old, however, insisted his side are coping well with the four-time Finals MVP's absence as they have moved up the Western Conference standings to 10th.

"I think Bron, him being out has revealed that we have a lot of different weapons that are competent players on both sides of the ball that can help us achieve the goal that we're trying to achieve."

"And when he comes back, he's just going to add to it," added Ham on the player who has averaged 29.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 6.9 assists this season.

The Lakers play the final regular season game on April 9 against the Utah Jazz.

After that, the top six seeds in the conference automatically hit the playoffs, while 7-10 make the play-in tournament, underlining more chances of a James return before their season shuts out.
