The Red Devils advanced after beating Real Betis in the quarter finals.

2017 champions Manchester United will face serial winners Sevilla in the quarter finals of the UEFA Europa League following a draw conducted on Friday 17 March.

The Red Devils are up against another Spanish opposition in the shape of Sevilla, who are six-time winners of the competition.

They advanced after beating LaLiga side, Real Betis, 1-0 in Seville on Thursday to take their aggregate score to 5-1. If Erik ten Hag’s side progresses to the last four, they will either face Juventus or Sporting Lisbon.

It is the third round in a row that the Carabao Cup winners have been drawn against Spanish opposition; they faced and defeated Barcelona and Real Betis in the previous assignments.

It is also worth noting that Manchester United are only the second side ever to face four different sides from the same country in a single season in a major European competition; Real Sociedad, Barcelona, Real Betis, and Sevilla.

Leeds United also faced four Spanish clubs in the 2000-2001 Champions League when they played Barcelona, Real Madrid, Deportivo La Coruna, and Valencia.

In the other matches, Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma will face Dutch giants Feyenoord, and Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen have been drawn against Belgian opposition Union Saint-Gilloise.

The first leg games have been scheduled to be played on April 13, with the return games slated for April 20.
