Express FC will face Lugazi FC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 32 at Luzira Prisons Grounds on Sunday, seeking a place in Round 16.

The Red Eagles were dumped out at this stage last season by rivals SC Villa, but assistant coach Eric Ndifuna is confident his side will go past Lugazi.

"We come into the game on Sunday injury free, and that gives me confidence and I believe we shall win," Ndifuna told the club media before adding.

"The team we will face plays in the FUFA Big League, a division below us, but we shall not underestimate our opponents."

"They put in the effort to reach this stage, and I know they will try to threaten us because we have seen teams of their type eliminating strong teams," he added.

To reach the Round of 32, the joint record holders eliminated Kajjansi United FC while Lugazi ejected Water FC.

Why will Express host the game at Luzira instead of Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku?

According to the stadium management, Wankulukuku was already booked for another event before the Uganda Cup draws for Round 32 were made and indicated that the Mukwano Gwabangi would be playing as hosts.

Flavia Kalibala, who serves as the stadium manager, told Pulse Sports on Friday that Express' StarTimes Uganda Premier League games are the ones that are planned for at Wankulukuku, not those from the Uganda Cup that fall abruptly.

After trying hard with FUFA to postpone the game to another day and failing, the club went for Luzira as an alternative.
