Rwanda FA’s Secretary General Henri Brulart Mihire resigned a day after former president Olivier Nizeyimana Mugabo left, both citing personal reasons.

The Federation of Rwanda Football Association has confirmed that Henri Brulart Mihire has resigned as its Secretary General.

Mihire tendered his resignation on Thursday, a day after Olivier Nizeyimana Mugabo left his seat as president for “personal reasons”.

In a report by 411info, Mugabo has been replaced by his deputy Marcel Habyarimana Matiku on interim terms until the General Assembly meets.

Personal reasons

Mihire wrote to the executive committee to communicate his resignation for what he also called “personal reasons”.

“The meeting of the Executive Committee of FERWAFA on April 20th, 2023 received the recommendation of the General Secretary of FERWAFA, Mr MIHIRE Henri Brulart, who resigned for his own reasons,” FERWAFA revealed in a letter written translated from Kinyarwanda.

Jules Karangwa will act as the interim General Secretary.

“Football activities will continue as usual, and soon the institutions will be filled according to the law. We also take this opportunity to thank the President and others who have resigned for the time and work they have done for FERWAFA, and we wish them the best of luck,” the press release concluded with an assurance.
