Lawrence Mahatlane’s charges have powered to eight wins in nine games, with their latest victory over Rwanda by 94 runs coming on Tuesday afternoon.

Cricket Cranes captain Brian Masaba has urged his side to show the same consistency exhibited during the Continent T20 Cup ahead of the final on Wednesday against neighbours Kenya.

Laurence Mahatlane’s charges have powered to eight wins in nine games, with their latest victory over Rwanda by 94 runs coming on Tuesday afternoon.

“Again, for us, it’s for coming out here to try and maintain certain standards; I thought we did that well; it was important for us to win despite reaching the finals,” Masba said on Tuesday.

“We had to put up a good show still and play to the standards we know that we can so we achieve a certain level of consistency; we look to bring that into the final. Obviously, we want to go and win.”

“But more importantly, the process continues for us in the final, where we have to hit our targets and execute our game plan to win the cup,” he added.

Uganda’s only loss at the showpiece was against Kenya earlier in the tournament on match day two, the hosts won by 89 runs with a dominant display.

Brian Masaba will hope the side’s batting and fielding on the day is top-notch.

Roger Mukasa currently the second best batsman with 220 runs and Riazt Shar with 176 runs have been impressive so far with, while Ham Ssenyondo who has picked up the most wickets (17), Alpesh Ranjani who has managed 13 and Siraje Nsubuga on 10 have also fielded well for the side.

The Uganda – Kenya rivalry will again be displayed as the sides clash on Wednesday from 1.30 pm at the Gymkhana Club Ground in Nairobi, Kenya. The Continent Cup T20 is in its inaugural edition.
