If Sam Ssimbwa harbours any ambitions of winning the Stanbic Uganda Cup and earning promotion to the Uganda Premier League, then his attack line at Kitara must score more goals.

Kitara has scored only two goals in the last three matches since the start of the second round since Ssimbwa joined. The three include two Cup games, one where they were forced to shootouts following a goalless draw against third-division side Free Stars.

The other was on Tuesday where Ramathan Dudu scored with the last stroke to earn a hard-fought 2-1 over Uganda Pentecostal University.

Ssimbwa took over a week ago but is worried that his strikers are not making use of the chances created.

“We were better and created many chances but we failed to score some of them,” Ssimbwa bemoaned despite the victory.

Improvement

“They came with their strategy which I believe was to take us to the shootouts but we were able to break them at the end. We could have scored six or seven goals but wasted them. I hope that we can work hard these two days to see to it that we start scoring the goals starting on Friday,” he hoped for improvement.

Kitara will shift focus to the league where they host Booma in another Kitara derby at the Kigaaya Grounds in Hoima.
