However, Pulse Sports can confirm that Emmanuel Adebayor, a global brand ambassador with betting firm 22Bet, is on an African tour for a conference which brings together betting firms and their support clients from across the world.

The former Togolese captain was in Kenya on the same project in January and visited Tusker Football club.

Adebayor, who announced his retirement from football on 21st March, enjoyed a 22-year professional career which saw him play in France, England, Spain, Turkey, Paraguay and his native Togo.

He scored 97 goals in 241 appearances in the premier league playing for Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham and Crystal Palace, where he spent most of his peak years.
