Startimes Uganda Premier League giants Express FC has signed striker Sheif Batte from SC Villa on a one-year contract until 2024.
The club had been quiet in the transfer period but has now broken their silence by starting to serve what they’ve been cooking behind the scenes.
Batte parted ways with SC Villa on Tuesday and immediately agreed terms to join the Red Eagles.

Sheif Batte scored three goals and assisted as many for SC Villa in the League last season.
“I am very excited to Join Express FC; this is a big club every player would like to play for, and I am [here] to deliver,” Batte was quoted by the club’s media shortly after putting pen to paper.
Batte joined SC Villa from Gaddafi at the beginning of the season and went on to score three goals and three assists.

Kitara, Mbarara City and NEC will host their Uganda Premier League games away from home.
Despite the low returns, coach James Odoch believes the striker is a great addition to the team.
“I’m very happy that we have acquired the services of a proven goal scorer who is still in his best years of the game, the goal-scoring department last season was lacking even, and we believe Batte is going to make it only stronger,” Odoch remarked.
The journeyman has also played for Maroons FC, Kyetume, UPDF and a host of lower-tier teams.
Allan Kayiwa was the best marksman at Express, with 13 goals out of the 31 the team registered last season.
