More good news for Scottish-based striker Jonah Ayunga who has revealed that his partner is expecting a son

Kenyan striker Jonah Ayunga is set to become a father after revealing that he is expecting a son.

Ayunga took to social media to announce the good news on Monday to the excitement of his friends and fans.

"Can't wait to meet you, son," Ayunga posted on Instagram, accompanying the post with an image of his partner's baby bump plus a scan that revealed the baby's gender.

It is further good news for the striker who signed a contract extension with St Mirren which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2025 just last month.

The 26-year-old, who is edging closer to a return from injury, joined Saints from English side Morecambe in summer 2022 on an original two-year deal.

He impressed in his first season at Saints with seven goals in 24 appearances before rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during a Cinch Premiership match against Motherwell in January.

As the forward nears a return to action, the club moved to extend his deal to keep him tied to Saints for a further year.

Ayunga, who has already declared that he would like to represent Harambee Stars at the World Cup, would complete a memorable year if he returns to full fitness in time for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers which begin in November.
