Players Out

Maroons confirmed the departure of three players in July, including the best goalkeeper of last season, Simon Tamale, who had signed with Rayon Sport as a free agent.

Forwards Samson Kigozi and Brian Kayanja, whose loan deal from KCCA FC had expired, are the other players who departed the side.

Players In

Mohammed Ssenfuma’s charges have so far roped in goalkeeper Hannington Ssebalunyo and midfielder Jackson Nunda, both from URA FC.

Rife reports also indicate creative midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba is also expected to join the Luzira-based side on a one-year deal.

Who brings what?

Goalkeeper Hannington Ssebalunyo is good cover for Simon Tamale, he brings experience to Maroons and will provide healthy competition to Akol Emmanuel and youngster Mutwalib Magolofa.

Jackson Nunda brings along creativity and the ability to score goals although he is barely injury free during the regular season.

Muzamiru Mutyaba’s addition to the team will go a long way in boosting the creativity going forward, Mutyaba’s experience and dead ball attributes are also an added advantage.

‘Fanta’ will be expected to link up with former teammate at Express FC in Abel Etrude who is expected to extend his stay at the side.

Player to watch

Fred Amaku

The pint-sized forward has been the side’s top scorer for the past two seasons; last season, he struggled with injuries but still managed ten goals. He will be expected to lead the line for Maroons FC.

Maroons had a decent home campaign last season, picking up points against sides like S.C Villa, KCCA FC, URA FC, and league champions Vipers SC.
