Freshly appointed head coach Hussein Mbalangu has asserted that the technical team, which also includes Dudu Bosco, will carry out trials but only after assessment of the current players.

Newly promoted Uganda Premier League side NEC FC have confirmed the club will conduct trials for potential new recruits ahead of the new season.

"Allihamudullillah Ya Allah for the first day of assessment and evaluation of old players of NEC FC," Mbalangu said on his official social media platforms on Monday.

"It will take 4 days up to Thursday this week Inshaallah. Reason being that the new technical team wanted to test the players before trials start," the tactician confirmed.

The trials will be held at the club's home, the Bugolobi Coffee grounds later this week.

He joined as a direct replacement for Michael 'Skills' Lukyamuzi who exited after the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

NEC made their way from the FUFA Big League having finished third with 57 points, behind runners-up Mbarara City FC and eventual winners Kitara FC.

The Bugolobi based outfit aims at making a sound impression in their first ever season in the Uganda Premier League.
