Mawejje is the only surviving member of the previous technical staff which was sacked after just six months.

Following the sacking of Charles Nsanziro Ssenyange, Kampala Queens Football Club has finally appointed Charles Ayiekoh Lukula as the new head coach.

Ssenyange was shown the exit door at the Palace last week, paving the way for versed women football tactician Ayiekoh.

The former had only been in charge for six months, having been appointed in July.

Meanwhile, Ayiekoh has penned down a two-year employment contract with the Kampala Queens that will run till 2025.

He is a former FUFA Women's Super League champion with the She Corporate in 2022.

With the latter, the team went all the way to the final of the CAF CECAFA Women's Champions League, eventually clinching a runners-up finish.

Ayiekoh has also previously managed Simba Queens in Tanzania, a side he led to the women's CAF Champions League semifinals.

His most recent job had him as interim head coach for the Crested Cranes as they played the Olympics qualifiers against Cameroon.

On the other hand, Ayiekoh will have Ali Zzinda and Uganda Cranes legend Tonny Mawejje as his assistants.

John Bosco Kassozi, Juma Sekiziyivu and Abdul Waidah Ghan have been made Statistician, Fitness Trainer and Kits Manager, respectively.

Currently, Kampala Queens sit top of the 2023/24 Women's Super League table with 10 points after just four games.
