2023 Netball World Cup: Commonwealth Games made Mugerwa a better coach

The She Cranes finished fifth at the 2022 Commonwealth games in Birmingham, England, finishing as Africa's best side and will head to the World Cup full of confidence.

"We were able to learn how to play differently from the various teams that we played and, in turn, made me a better coach in the process,” Mugerwa told Pulse Sports.

"It's going to be a little tricky for the team as well as the coaching staff because it is going to be the first major international tournament for many of the players in the team, but that's the beauty of sports,” he noted.

Mugerwa added: "Yes, because I am going to take a team that is going to compete against the teams trained by the best players, which will improve the team and me as well, as they are a young and hungry squad.”

The She Cranes will embark on the first World Cup played on African Soil in South Africa when the tournament begins in 26 days.
