2025 Afrobasket Qualifiers: Uganda pooled against Nigeria, two others
Uganda's national senior men's basketball team have learned their opponents for the 2025 Afrobasket qualification campaign.
In the draws conducted on Friday in Johannesburg, South Africa, the Silverbucks were pitted in the same group as West African giant Nigeria.
The Silverbacks will also wrestle it out with another familiar opponent in the versed Cape Verde in Group B.

The Silverbacks will be up against Cape Verde, Nigeria and a team from the Zone 1&2 pre-qualifiers.
Group B games are slated for February 2024.

Meanwhile, the other and final nation in the Pool will come from the Zonal Qualifiers of Zone 1 and Zone 2.
It's worth noting that the qualification games will be played in February 2024.
Ironically, the Silverbacks were thrown in a similar group in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers.
It's also imperative to recall that Uganda also previously faced Cape Verde in the qualifiers for the 2021 AfroBasket.
The two nations yet again met in the quarterfinal of the final competition.
