3 top heavyweights lined up for Anthony Joshua after Franklin fight

English professional boxer of Nigerian descent Anthony Oluwafemi Joshua is set to be involved in big fights before the end of the year.

The 33-year-old former heavyweight champion returns to action against American professional boxer Jermaine Franklin.

Joshua returns to the ring following back-to-back losses against Ukrainian professional boxer Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022.

Joshua is in Dallas, Texas United States of America (USA) preparing for a return to the ring against Franklin.

Edward Hearn of Matchroom boxing is already making plans to get big fights for his client following a victory against Franklin.

Joshua after losing the IBF, IBO, WBA, and WBO titles has stated his intention to become a three-time heavyweight champion.

Regarded as one of the best in this era, Joshua is yet to fight American boxing superstar Deontay Wilder and his compatriot WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Hearn explained that he is already working on making a top fight for Joshua after facing off against Franklin.

The boxing promoter made his plans about Joshua known in an interview on Talksport.

He said,  “Joshua has three options if he beats Franklin – Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte.

“People say, ‘you throw Dillian Whyte in there because that’s the one that’s going to happen.

"I mean that’s the easiest fight to make and I don’t think there is any disgrace, after the Usyk fights, going Franklin, Dillian Whyte, Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder. That’s a hell of a 2023.” 

Wilder is reportedly in talks with Cameroonian-French professional mixed martial artist Francis Ngannou on a boxing fight.

Fury is also reportedly set for an undisputed fight with IBF, IBO, WBA, and WBO  champion Usyk.

Joshua is focused on a bounce-back victory against Franklin at the 02 Arena in London on Saturday, April 1, 2023.
