Abdallah Mubiru to KCCA is a done deal
Uganda Premier League giants KCCA FC have completed the signing of versed tactician Abdallah Mubiru as their new head coach.
Pulse Sports understands Mubiru will sign a two-year employment contract, with his unveiling imminent.
It is believed the former Police FC head coach intends to use Kefa Kisala as his deputy.
Reliable sources have confirmed that Mubiru initially wanted to use Livingstone Mbabazi as his assistant before the board rejected his request.
Wakiso Giants FC head coach John Ayala Luyinda, who was the second option for the deputy coach, immediately denied a return, with Mubiru eventually settling for Kisala.
Meanwhile, Mubiru comes in as a direct replacement for Portuguese national Sergio Daniel Moniz Traguil, who was sacked after just four months in the seat following woeful results in the league and the CAF Confederation Cup.
Mubiru's most recent coaching role was at Tanzania Premier League side Mbeya City FC, which he left towards the start of the current 2023/24 season.
The former Proline FC, Vipers SC and Police FC coach has since been without a coaching job.
In September this year, Mubiru refused FUFA's offer to take charge of the National Senior Women's Football team, the Crested Cranes.
Following a dreadful start to the season as they lost the first five games, KCCA are starting to pick up momentum as they have picked four points out of a possible six.
