Ademola Lookman: Hope for Arsenal as Atalanta desperate to keep star away from rivals
Lookman, who scored 20 goals last season and played a key role in Atalanta’s Europa League triumph, has formally requested a move away from Bergamo, after feeling let down by broken promises. His desire to leave intensified after Atalanta rejected Inter Milan’s bids, which fell short of their €50-55 million valuation.
One major stumbling block appears to be the rivalry between the clubs, with Atalanta reportedly desperate to avoid selling their prized asset to a fellow Serie A club.
Where will Ademola Lookman end up?
According to ItaFootPod, the Bergamo club simply do not want to sell Lookman to Inter, and will push for the highest fee possible. Their preference is to sell the Nigerian abroad, which could open up the door to Arsenal, who have a long-standing interest.
🚨 Atalanta simply does NOT want to sell Ademola Lookman to #Inter. If anything, the price would likely be MORE than €50M- maybe €55M. 🇳🇬

However, Lookman is reportedly keen to move to Inter, which has complicated things as the Milan side have no intention to meet Atalanta's asking price.
As the transfer window enters its final weeks, one or all parties may be forced to compromise, with Lookman effectively going on strike to force a move.
Meanwhile, Football Italia claims Lookman is in London, waiting on developments. The report further claims that the forward failed to turn up to training for several days in a row without providing a medical certificate to explain his absence.
The reigning CAF Player of the Year is now training alone to keep in shape, while hoping a deal is agreed.
