After sealing Osimhen deal, Galatasaray agree deal with Manchester City star
Galatasaray’s summer revolution is gathering serious momentum with new faces set to grace the Cimbum’s squad this season.
Fresh off securing a blockbuster agreement for Victor Osimhen, the Turkish champions have now turned their attention to Manchester City’s long-serving goalkeeper Ederson.
Ederson gives green light to Galatasaray move
According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Ederson is open to joining Galatasaray and has already reached a verbal agreement with the Turkish club.
While no formal contact has been made between the clubs, the 31-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper is reportedly keen on the move. With just one year remaining on his current deal at Manchester City, Ederson’s potential exit is becoming increasingly plausible.
Although Pep Guardiola's side are said to value him at €15 million, Galatasaray’s first offer is expected to come in at around €3 millio, a figure far below City’s asking price. However, given Ederson’s contract situation and willingness to leave, negotiations could take a pragmatic turn in the coming days.
Ederson has been a key figure at City since his arrival from Benfica in 2017, helping the club to six Premier League titles and a historic UEFA Champions League triumph. Yet, after years of domestic dominance, the Brazilian may now be tempted by a new challenge at a club aiming to make waves in Europe.
Osimhen deal signals new era for Galatasaray
Meanwhile, Galatasaray have all but completed the signing of Nigerian superstar Victor Osimhen from Napoli.
As revealed by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, a verbal agreement has been reached with a structured deal worth up to €80 million.
That includes an initial €40 million payment, €35 million next year, and a further €5 million in add-ons, plus a 10% future sell-on clause.
With Ederson and Osimhen both poised to arrive, Galatasaray’s ambition for European relevance is loud and clear.
