What happened

The Norwegian striker gave Manchester City the lead early on, but Arsenal fought back and swung the scoreline, thanks to goals from Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel Maghalaes.

Despite the numerical advantage, City failed to truly capitalise, with a resolute Arsenal defence frustrating their efforts. Although John Stones scored late to help City snatch a point, the Gunners were the happier side with the result, having won a point at the Etihad with ten men.

A small fracas ensued after the brush-up, with Gabriel Jesus challenging Haaland and rebuking him for sizing up his manager.

Arteta was asked about the incident today, and he played it down, understanding it to be an element of the game.

“It’s part of football, part of sport. After the game, all that goes away and we move on. That’s it,” he told reporters.
