The defeat hit the Gunners' confidence ahead of their trip to France to take on the Ligue giants in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The second leg of the semi-final will see the Gunners attempt to overturn their loss in the initial match at the Emirates.

Arteta speaks after Bournemouth loss

Following Arsenal's 2-1 Premier League defeat to Bournemouth, Arteta addressed the media and fielded questions about his players, including whether he perceived any physical or mental fatigue within the squad.

He said, "No," as reported by the Sun. "Not mental; fatigue is true, but a lot of players had to start. They were probably conditioned for something else."

Despite the disappointing result, Arteta emphasised that he and his team would channel their "anger" from the game into their upcoming match against the French.

He added, "It did not create the right momentum. It certainly created a lot of anger, frustration, rage and disappointment, and let's use all of that for Wednesday. That is what we have to do."
