After 42 days on the sidelines, Uganda Cranes deputy skipper Khalid Aucho made his hugely anticipated return from injury to help Young Africans SC past Dodoma Jiji in the Tanzanian Federation Cup.

Aucho came on in the second half as Young Africans comfortably beat Dodoma 2-0 at the Jamhuri, Dodoma Stadium on Wednesday.

An own-goal from Augustino Nsata and one from Clement Mzize were enough to guide the CAF Champions League quarterfinalists to victory.

Aucho's compatriot and Uganda Cranes teammate Gift Fred started and played 90 minutes in the win in Dodoma.

It should be recalled that Aucho had last featured in competitive action on March 1, as Young Africans lost 1-0 to Al Ahly in the group stages of the CAF Champions League.

He went ahead to sit out the club's quarterfinal doubleheader with Mamelodi Sundowns, as the latter progressed into the semifinals after post-match penalties.

Aucho also missed four Tanzania Premier League games, including victories over Namungo, Ihefu and Geita Gold as well as a 2-1 defeat to Azam.

In the league, they Young Africans lead proceedings with 52 points in 20 games, five ahead of runners-up Azam, who have played a game more.
