Mike Edwards, a former reality star of Big Brother Naija, recently declared his intention to enter the professional boxing world.
He stated that he would be participating in the Misfits Boxing Cruiserweight division, which is run by English social media personality and Nigerian-born professional boxer Olajide Olayinka Williams "JJ" Olatunji, better known by his stage name KSI.
Mike Edwards to fight Jake Cornish
After several weeks of speculation, Edwards now has an opponent for his fight boxing fight.
Edwards announced the fight with Jake Cornish on his official social media -platforms.
Along with the post was a message that said, "Fight Date Announcement! 🥊
"Mark your calendars,🗓️ I am thrilled to announce that my pro boxing debut will be taking place on August 31st in the electric city of Dublin, Ireland!
"It’s been a battle just to get to this point, but let me tell you, we’re only just getting started.
"See you in Dublin ☘️ Get ya tickets in my bio!"
The fight between Edwards and Cornish is set for the Dublin Arena in Ireland.
It will take place under Olatunji's Misfits boxing on Saturday, August 31, 2024.
It is a huge step for Edwards in professional boxing as he joins the Cruiserweight division roster of MisfitsBoxing.
Last year, Mike Edwards issued a challenge to his subordinate colleague Pere to a boxing battle, but it was not fulfilled.
