Uganda Cranes defender Bevis Mugabi came from the bench to score against Scottish giants Rangers but it wasn’t enough to save club Motherwell from a 4-2 loss.

Kevin van Veen opened the scores after just three minutes to give Motherwell an early lead but James Tavernier and Zambian striker Fashion Sakala ensured the visitors took control two minutes into the second half.

Mugabi was introduced in the 52nd for Paul McGinn and got himself on the scoresheet eight minutes later but that was just a consolation as Rangers scored two more.
