Skipper Milton Karisa scored for the Venoms, while a Hillary Mukundane own-goal handed Maroons a point.

It was tightly contested for the entire 90, with both sides having decent opportunities to grab a lot more than just a point under the floodlights.

Each of Allan Okello, Mohamed Salem and Yunus Sentamu had chances to add to Vipers' evening's tally, but they came short on all occasions.

On the other hand, goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza was called into action a couple of times to deny Abraham Tusubira Kakensa, Fred Amaku and the laser-sharp Darius Ojok.

Following the stalemate, Vipers will return to action against fellow title challengers BUL FC, on Wednesday next week, at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
