The former Champions League runners-up had no trouble dispatching Heidenheim on the road, temporarily climbing to the top of the German league table.

Guirassy and Beier Seal Borussia's Win at Heidenheim

Niko Kovac's side played with a numerical advantage from the 22nd minute after Heidenheim's striker, Budu Zivzivadze, was sent off for a dangerously high tackle on Felix Nmecha.

The "Black and Yellows" capitalized fully on the red card, pressing Diant Ramaj's goal and breaking the deadlock in the 34th minute. Julian Ryerson delivered a perfect cross from the right flank, and Serhou Guirassy evaded his marker to head home, putting his team in front.

The move leading to the visitors' second goal also originated on the right side. Karim Adeyemi skillfully beat an opponent before setting up Maxi Beier, who had a simple tap-in just before halftime (45'+6').

Despite being a man down, Frank Schmidt's players attempted to pressure Kobel's goal at the start of the second half, but without any significant success.

As expected, the biggest scoring opportunities still fell to the "Black and Yellows," though these came late in the game. Felix Nmecha and substitute Carney Chukwuemeka missed the clearest chances, with their shots from the edge of the box narrowly sailing over Ramaj's goal. Thus, the final score remained 2-0 in favor of Dortmund.

Next up for Borussia is a blockbuster Champions League clash against Juventus. The match will take place on Tuesday, September 16th, at 10:00 PM (local time) at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.
