Bright Stars seek to pile more misery on BUL despite fixture congestion
Coach Asaph Mwebaze hopes that the Bright Stars’ recent turnaround will inspire them to beat BUL when they travel to Njeru on Friday in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
The Stars started the year on a positive note but slipped along the way to four defeats that dragged them down the table.
However, a recent peak in form saw them eliminate KCCA to reach the final of the Stanbic Uganda Cup and a win and draw against Onduparaka and Express in the league.
“We had hit a blip somewhere in the second round but I think we turned the corner to get some positive results and believe this can inspire us into the game,” Mwebaze said ahead of the game.
Wounded
On the other side, BUL slipped on their own oil and has been sliding downwards from a title contender to the sixth since the year started.
They have not won a league match in the second round losing four and sharing points in four.
Mwebaze respects the fact that they’re a tough team at home but is aware of their current situation.
“They’re a tough team especially at their home but we have started a culture that it doesn’t matter where we play; we’ve gotten some positive results even at very tough grounds,” he promised.
BUL sits 6th on the log with 31 points, three ahead of the Kavumba side who are 11th after 22 outings.
