The Eastern Giants have now opened a five-point lead at the top, having accumulated 37 points, ahead of runners-up Kitara FC, who have played a game less.

Walter Ochora (L) scored the first for BUL|BUL FC IMAGE

Defender Walter Ochora and midfielder Jeromy Kirya scored in the second half to avoid an early slump handed by their opponents.

The second was a make of calamitous goalkeeping from Hassan Matovu, who failed to stealthily gather an effort from Kirya.

Kirya had been the provider from a freekick, which was met with a thumping Ochora header.

Conversely, Bright Stars netted through Shafiq Kakande in the first half, but it wasn't enough to help his side avoid defeat.

BUL will now shift their attention to their next match as they will visit Maroons FC at Luzira on February 23.
