CAF Awards: Ajibade in, Oshoala out as CAF releases Women's player of the Year nominations
Super Falcons captain Rashidat Ajibade and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie have been nominated for the CAF Awards.
Ajibade, the Atletico Madrid forward, is nominated for Women's Player of the Year, while Nnadozie, the Paris FC goalkeeper, is in contention for the Women's Goalkeeper of the Year award.
The Nigeria Women Football League champions, Edo Queens, also received multiple nominations after their impressive outing at the CAF Women's Champions League, where they defeated the defending champions.

Striker Emem Essien and goalkeeper Monle Oyono are both shortlisted for the Interclub Player of the Year award, and coach Moses Adukwu is nominated for Coach of the Year.
Additionally, the nation's U-17 and U-20 teams, along with their coaches, also received recognition for their outstanding performances at the World Cup earlier this year.
On the men's side, Ademola Lookman is a strong contender for the Men's Player of the Year award after a stellar season with Atalanta as he was among the top five nominees.
Stanley Nwabali of Chippa United is also nominated for the Men's Goalkeeper of the Year award. The Super Eagles are also in the running for the Men's National Team of the Year award.
The 2024 CAF Awards ceremony will take place on December 16th in Marrakech, Morocco.
