The final five-man shortlist for the Young Player of the Year Award was released on Monday morning with Manchester United youngster Hannibal Mejbri leading the nominees.

Amoo's exclusion from the final shortlist means no Nigerian player or team is in the running for any awards at the 2022 CAF Awards Gala to be held this month.

According to an official press statement published by CAF, the final 5-man shortlist includes one player each from Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal, and Tunisia.

Tunisian prodigy Mejbri will battle it out with Black Stars of Ghana's Kamaldeen Sulemana, Burkina Faso's Django Ouattara, Senegal's Pape Matar Sarr, and Ivory Coast's Karim Konate for the award.
