 During the intense match between Ivory Coast and Senegal, cameras caught Santos whispering in the ear of a Senegalese lady and reportedly asking for her phone number.

 The unexpected scene played out in front of millions of viewers, sparking a storm of reactions and leaving Santos with a need to address the situation.

In the aftermath of the controversial incident, Anselme Santos took to a public platform to issue a heartfelt apology to his wife and children.

However, Pulse Sports could not verify the authenticity of the reports surrounding Santos's actions. 

While the authenticity of the reports remains uncertain, Santos's apology added a unique twist to the ongoing drama surrounding the AFCON 2023, as fans have now taken to social media to react.

 Ivory Coast managed to come from a goal down to knock out the defending African champions, Senegal, forcing the match into penalties after 120 minutes of action.

The hosts have advanced to the quarterfinals to face Mali, as the Elephants brace up for one of their toughest tests yet in the tournaments.
