Chelsea don't want to sell Nicolas Jackson's rival, only loan move - Fabrizio Romano
Football transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Chelsea dont want to sell Marc Guiu but loan him.
Guiu, who was snapped up by the Blues last summer after they activated his €6 million release clause, had a mixed debut campaign at Stamford Bridge. While he made only three Premier League appearances, he showed flashes of his potential in the Conference League, netting an impressive six goals in seven outings.
However, Guiu's progress was hampered by a hamstring injury in February last season, which saw him miss 20 games.
Although he managed to return as a substitute in the Conference League final, the arrivals of attacking talents Liam Delap and Joao Pedro have further pushed Guiu down the pecking order in Enzo Maresca's squad.
What Fabrizio said
Fabrizio Romano took to X.com to confirm Chelsea's stance, stating, "Understand Chelsea have opened doors to loan move for Marc Guiu but no buy option will be included."
He further elaborated that, “The clear priority for Chelsea is loan in England, want Guiu to develop and play in England next season."
This decision also comes amid ongoing speculation surrounding the future of Nicolas Jackson, another forward on Chelsea's books, but Romano suggests Chelsea are equally keen to retain Jackson.
