Chido Obi: Nigerian-born star signs with Manchester United, to battle Rasmus Højlund
Danish teenage footballer of Nigerian descent Chido Obi-Martin has completed his move to Manchester United.
After months of wrangling over pay negotiations, the teenage striker signed a contract with United after leaving Arsenal as a free agent.
On Friday, October 4, 2024, Obi-Martin put pen to paper and signed a contract with United.
He posted photos of his unveiling at Arsenal along with a message that said, "Very happy to sign with this amazing club, time to focus and achieve all my dreams.
"Thanks to everyone who has helped me get this far. @manchesterunited 🔴⚪️"
The 16-year-old's deal is now expected to be confirmed by a United statement.
After declining the opportunity to continue with the north London club, the prolific teenage forward decided to depart the Gunners after his terms expired, making him a transfer target for clubs throughout England and Europe throughout the summer.
Obi-Martin, who will turn 17 in November, was snatched up by United.
