Draymond Green reignites Jordan Poole punch conversation
The Golden State Warriors year got off to a rocky start when Draymond Green chose to punch his former teammate Jordan Poole at the opening of the previous campaign.
After that, Poole was never quite the same, and the Warriors struggled for much of their 2022–23 season and were unable to successfully defend their 2021–22 NBA Championship.
Golden State struggled last season, and Green punching Poole wasn't the only factor Nevertheless, it didn't help.
Poole was transferred for 38-year-old Chris Paul this summer, and Green provided some explanations this week as to why he ultimately treated him the way he did.
Why Draymond Green punched Jordan Poole
Speaking on the Pat Bev podcast, he said, “I don’t just hit people.
“Dialogue, of course, happens over time and you usually ain’t triggered by something that fast…
"We know stuff you don’t say amongst men. We know things that you have to stand on.”
Draymond Green is now expected to sign an extension with the Warriors this season.
