Dumbest move ever - Jamaicans unhappy with Alana Reid joining Sha'Carri Richardson's training group in the US
Since Jamaica's teenage sensation, Alana Reid relocated to the US to start training with Sha'Carri Richardson under the guidance of coach Dennis Mitchell, several Jamaican track fans have been unhappy.
Reid, the reigning World Under-20 200m bronze medallist, made a shocking move in October to start training under the guidance of coach Dennis Mitchell at the Florida-based Star Athletics Track Club.
This move came with mixed feelings from Jamaican athletics fans, who feel their best talent should not be training in a rival country. Also, the switch came a few months after she ran the 100m National U20 record of 10.92s and signed a multi-year professional deal with Nike.
What a way to destroy Veronica Campbell-Brown’s 22 year record 😦

10.92 at the tender age of 18 is INSANE. Big up Alana Reid, big up Jamaica!!!! 🇯🇲pic.twitter.com/QgJF8TVzws
To make the situation more uncomfortable, a viral picture online showed Reid in training with Richardson, as the world's fastest woman looked to be mentoring their future star.
It got so many Jamaican fans unhappy, and here are some reactions below.
