Edo man Deontay Wilder wants to fight Ijebu boxer Anthony Joshua in December
According to co-manager Shelly Finkel, Deontay Wilder is still hopeful about seeing his longtime foe Anthony Joshua in combat.
Joshua's two-round exhibition bout against Francis Ngannou went viral as he crushed him.
Over the course of the next 12 months, the former two-time heavyweight world champion from Britain may be available for a bout.
This is because Oleksandr Usyk, the two-time champion, will be facing immediate target Tyson Fury in May and maybe in December.
In June or July, Joshua and Filip Hrgovic will square off for the vacant IBF title.
If Joshua defeats the Croatian and wins the title, the Wilder bout might be scheduled as a title defense before the end of the year, if the American returns to winning.
Path for Deontay Wilder to face Anthony Joshua
Joshua vs. Wilder for the world heavyweight championship is undoubtedly still very profitable.
Finkel claims he would be willing to talk to Joshua's group in order to ultimately move the superfight forward in 2024.
Joseph Parker defeated Wilder after a damaging spell of inactivity.
The greatest course of action for Wilder to get ready for Joshua possibly taking the title would be a win over someone in the IBF top fifteen.
Saudi Arabian interest would be piqued immediately by a matchup between Joshua and Hrgovic for the IBF belt, if the former prevails.
