Efe Ajagba to return against Martin Bakole in May
The heavyweight showdown between Efe Ajagba of Nigeria and Martin Bakole of DR Congo, which was first scheduled to take place in New York (USA), will now take place on May 3rd in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
After Bakole was knocked out by Joseph Parker, the bout lost its status as an IBF heavyweight eliminator.
With under 48 hours' notice, Bakole had filled in for Daniel Dubois at the last minute.
Ajagba is making his professional debut outside of the United States with this fight, while Bakole will be competing in Saudi Arabia for the second time.
Now, the fight will take place as an undercard event in the Canelo vs. William Scull match.
Ajagba's victory will enhance his rankings and bring him nearer to a title shot, while Bakole's win will aid in restoring his reputation following his recent loss.
Bakole has competed in various countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United States, France, Poland, the UAE, England, Scotland, Belgium, and South Africa.
The bout is now taking place on a grand stage in Riyadh, allowing both boxers to impress a worldwide audience and assert their claims in the fiercely competitive heavyweight division.
