Eintracht Frankfurt reject Liverpool's opening bid for Ekitike but talks continue

The French international has been a target for Newcastle in recent weeks, but the Magpies pulled out of the deal due to the overpricing of the player.

Following their withdrawal, Liverpool entered the race after their attempt to get Alexander Isak was pushed back by Newcastle.

Liverpool are progressing quickly in talks with Eintracht Frankfurt over the transfer of Randal Kolo Muani, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, via Sportal.

The Anfield club have even submitted their first official offer, which has been rejected by the German side, but active discussions continue.

The situation is directly linked to the potential transfer of Newcastle's Alexander Isak. Liverpool prefer the Swede to lead their attack, but the Magpies insist he's not for sale.
