Liverpool are progressing quickly in talks with Eintracht Frankfurt over the transfer of Randal Kolo Muani, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, via Sportal.

The Anfield club have even submitted their first official offer, which has been rejected by the German side, but active discussions continue.

The exact value of the bid is unclear, but it's believed to be in the region of €80 million. Eintracht Frankfurt deemed the offer too low, but negotiations are ongoing.

The situation is directly linked to the potential transfer of Newcastle's Alexander Isak. Liverpool prefer the Swede to lead their attack, but the Magpies insist he's not for sale.

Reports suggest Newcastle are prepared to reject offers of up to £120 million. Ekitike is considered the primary target to replace Isak should he depart.

However, the current circumstances will likely deter Newcastle from pursuing the 23-year-old Frenchman. The Eintracht Frankfurt forward impressed last season, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists in 48 appearances.
