Gadafi Wahab completes move to NEC
Former Arua Hill SC skipper and attacking midfielder Gadafi Wahab has sealed a deal to Uganda Premier League newbies NEC Football Club, pending official announcement and unveiling.
At long last, NEC has won the race to sign the talented attacker, beating the likes of KCCA FC and Vipers SC, who initially expressed interest.
Agreement between the two parties has been reached , pending signing and official unveiling in the next couple of days.
Wahab bade farewell to Arua Hill on Tuesday, ending his stay at the club he has spent two and a half seasons.
At the time of his departure, he had played 57 league matches, netting twelve times in the process.
This season, he had accumulated three goals and four assists for the struggling Leopards, who sit rock-bottom with five points in 15 games.
As Arua Hill finished fourth last campaign, Wahab was nominated for the Midfielder of the Season, with Laban Tibiita eventually walking away with the gong.
Meanwhile, NEC sit seventh with 24 points in 15 games and are looking at bolstering the squad ahead of the second round, slated to kickstart this February.
