Galatasaray vs Sivasspor: Osimhen chases historic milestone against Braves

Super Eagles talisman Victor Osimhen will have a new career milestone in sight during Galatasaray’s clash against Sivasspor later today.

The 26-year-old is leading the Cim-Bom's charge to the Super Lig title, with 22 goals so far to his name, two more than the next best, Istanbul Başakşehir's Krzysztof Piatek.

While collective success is paramount for team players like Osimhen, he is also an ambitious striker and will be looking to improve his margin on the Polish forward when they host Sivasspor at Rams Park later today.

More significant, however, is a career milestone the Nigerian could hit during the game. Osimhen has scored 31 goals in all competitions for the Turkish champions this season—22 in the Super Lig, seven in Europa League and three in the Turkiye Kupasi.

31 is also as many as he scored in his best season in Naples, the 22/23 season, in which he led the Partenopei to their first league title in 33 years. In that season, he scored 26 in the league and five in the Champions League.

With six games left this season for the Lions, including the Cup final against Trabzonspor, setting a new career milestone is highly probable, and the game against Sivasspor presents the first opportunity for Osimhen—in his career—to score 32 club goals in a season.
