Barnsley manager Conor Hourihane has confirmed that Nigeria international midfielder Kelechi Nwakali will be allowed to leave the League One club before the close of the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old has been sidelined since returning late from holidays in Nigeria, a move that saw him banished from first-team training, according to a tweet from Andrew Randa.

His absence meant he was not considered for recent fixtures against Plymouth Argyle, Burton Albion, Fleetwood Town and Bolton Wanderers.
Nwakali’s disciplinary issues have once again placed his future under the spotlight, having previously been sacked by Spanish side Huesca for a similar offence.
What Hourihane said
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Barnsley’s clash with Peterborough United, Hourihane admitted the club is working on moving Nwakali on.
“Obviously there’s a couple of weeks to go in the window. Let’s see where it takes us,” the coach said.
When asked directly if the Nigerian midfielder would be allowed to leave, he replied firmly, “Yes, that’s the plan.”
However, Pulse Sports reported that Nwakali ended a prolonged goal drought with a spectacular strike, in a comeback victory for Barnsley against Exeter City in December.
The 2-1 win at St James Park marks Nwakali's first goal since April 27 and helped Barnsley move closer to the League One playoff spots.
The 25-year-old, who joined Barnsley on a three-year deal last summer after a stint with Portuguese side Casa Pia, was handed his first league start by manager Darrell Clarke.
The former Golden Eaglets star replaced the suspended Adam Phillips in the starting lineup and seized the opportunity with both hands.
Nwakali still has two years left on his contract with the Tykes, where he made 26 appearances in all competitions last season.
