Good day in office for Kenyan players attached to Zambian clubs

Harambee Stars goalkeeper Ian Otieno looked assured as Zesco United maintained their lead at the top of the MTN Zambian league table with a 3--1 win over FC Muza.

Otieno, who has been battling hard to win his place both at club and national team level back after sitting on the bench for large parts of last season, did not manage to keep a clean sheet, but did, nonetheless, produce a performance that helped keep the Zambian giants at the top of the table.

Enock Sakala scored a brace of goals to help Zesco to move four points clear at the top of the MTN Super League on Saturday.

Sakala netted twice in the first half before Kelvin Mubanga added a third to seal the three points.

Andrew Phiri scored a late consolation for the home side, who were well beaten in the end.

In another MTN match played on the same day,  former Gor Mahia, Zesco and Harambee Stars defender David ‘Calabar’ Owino started and captained Napsa Stars to a 1-0 win over Prison Leopards.

Simon Nkhata scored the all-important goal in the first half to give Napsa a crucial three points in their battle against relegation.

Owino has plied his trade for Napsa since leaving Zesco United.
