Gor Mahia will aim to shake off their recent setback when they face Shabana FC at the Machakos Stadium on Wednesday in an FKF Premier League (FKFPL) clash.

The defending champions suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bidco United in their last outing, ending a promising three-game winning streak under interim manager Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno.

In their match against Bidco, K’Ogalo fell to an early penalty in the sixth minute, coolly converted by Erik Michibu, leaving goalkeeper Kevin Omondi stranded.

Despite Gor Mahia’s relentless push for an equalizer, Bidco’s solid defensive performance secured them all three points.

The loss underscored Gor Mahia's challenges in maintaining consistency that saw the dismissal of their former Brazilian head coach Leonardo Neiva.

The champions, now six points behind league leaders KCB, will hope the loss was a temporary hiccup as they face a Shabana side eager to climb the league standings.

Shabana FC enters the match on the back of mixed results, having won, drawn, and lost in their last three games.

Their latest success came last weekend with a 2-1 victory over FC Talanta at Gusii Stadium, thanks to a Brian Michira brace.

A win against Gor Mahia would not only boost their confidence but also improve their league position.

AFC Leopards vs Tusker FC

At Dandora Stadium, AFC Leopards will host a formidable Tusker FC in another crucial league tie.

Ingwe's inconsistent form has been a cause for concern, with just one win in their last five fixtures. Their struggles have been compounded by tension with former head coach Thomas Trucha.

In their most recent match, the Leopards salvaged a dramatic 1-1 draw against Kakamega Homeboyz in the Ingo Derby.

Potiphar Odhiambo’s stoppage-time strike canceled out Ovella Ochieng's opener, but it wasn’t enough to mask their need for improvement.

Tusker, on the other hand, have been in sensational form, riding a four-game winning streak.

Their 2-0 win over Mathare United at the Sportpesa Arena featured first-half goals from John Njuguna and James Kibande, keeping them just two points behind league leaders KCB.

A win against AFC Leopards would not only extend their winning streak to five games but also strengthen their title ambitions.

As the FKF Premier League gains momentum, both matches and more promise high stakes and intense battles, setting the stage for an exciting midweek showdown.
