Gor Mahia share spoils against KCB in drab encounter
Gor Mahia dropped two more points after being held to a goalless draw by KCB in a top-of-the-table clash played on Friday afternoon at the Nyayo Stadium.
Peter Lwasa created the first opportunity with a brilliant long diagonal down the left to release Benson Omala, whose first shot could have been better but he struck the volley nevertheless and it went over the crossbar.

K'Ogalo continued knocking the ball around crisply and soon after Alpha Onyango lifted the ball over the top for the run of Austine Odhiambo, who took it down and let the ball bounce before a powerful volley was tipped over the bar by KCB goalkeeper Bryne Otieno.
The impressive Omala once again threatened. The ball was played to the feet of Boniface Omondi, who laid it in the path of the attacker and the striker’s good first touch was blocked by KCB defender Nashon Alembi.
KCB had the best chance five minutes before the end of the first stanza, but Gad Mathews produced a fine save to deny John Mwangi.
Byrne Omondi had to pull off a fine save to deny Gor Mahia midfielder Sydney Ochieng as the visitors continued to search for the opening goal.

However, KCB captain Michael Mutinda and his troops were able to contain Gor Mahia until the match referee blew the half-time whistle.
The score was 0-0 at the interval following a lively first half.
Action resumed with Gor Mahia still on the front foot. Three minutes in, Austin Odhimabo combined well with Benson Omalla and delivered into the box but Apollo Otieno could not glance his header enough to get it to the target.
Bryne Omondi had to be at his best in the 65th minute, as he pulled a superb save to deny Austin Odhiambo from six-yards out.
KCB squandered a chance of their own in the 70th minute when Maurice Owino fed a pass to substitute Francis Kahiro, who ended up dragging his effort wide off the mark from close range.
⏹It ends in a stalemate.
