Omanyala has had a great season, only missing out on one of his targets, winning a gold medal at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

He ended up finishing seventh in the final of the men’s 100m and instead, Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo carried the day at the event.

However, that will not stop him from enjoying his off season as he has so many things lined up for him.

Speaking to Pulse Sports Kenya exclusively, Omanyala said: “I will be attending events…I also hosted a tennis tournament sometime back and I also attended a karate power girl tournament.

We also did the Kisumu Heart and Cancer run. I want to meet people and do CSR stuff. Later on, after schools have closed we shall take a vacation somewhere in the world.”

Meanwhile, the Commonwealth Games 100m champion started his season with a remarkable indoor tour where he won three out of the four races he was competing in. He finished second in one of the races.

In his outdoor tour, he has managed to set impeccable times, and even finished the season as the fourth-fastest man in the world this year.

He has been to several Diamond League Meetings and he made history in the Meeting in Monaco, becoming the first Kenyan to win a 100m race on the stage.

He also impressed at the Kip Keino Classic, stunning his competitors to take top honours on home soil.

As he takes his off-season break, the 27-year-old will be sure to also start strategizing on how best to make a comeback during the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.
