Prudence Sekgodiso added that while in Tokyo, she had a routine: sleep, train and recover, and she wondered why the results of her dedication came out negatively.

“My mum was like it was nothing serious because I felt nothing in the last call room. My leg didn’t want to move and I couldn’t do strides. The past three weeks, things were going really well…I trained so hard, I was ready for this,” Prudence Sekgodiso told reporters after the race.

“This is the end of my season, and I wanted it to end on a good note, but God had his own plans. Since I came here, I’ve been very focused. I’ve been in my room, then going to train, coming back, and recovering. But these are the rewards.”
