Chelsea star Cole Palmer admitted he was bewildered when former U.S. President Donald Trump remained on stage during the Club World Cup final trophy presentation.

Trump had presented the trophy to Chelsea captain Reece James alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

What Palmer said

Cole Palmer seemed perplexed when Donald Trump stayed on stage during Chelsea's trophy celebration after their 3-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup final.

According to Palmer, he was "a bit confused" because he expected Trump to leave the stage after presenting the trophy.

He added, "I knew he was going to be here but I didn't know he was going to be on the stand when we lifted the trophy. I was a bit confused, yes."
