In the summer of 2022, Liverpool paid €75 million to bring Nunez from Benfica. At the time, he was considered the Reds' answer to Manchester City's signing of Erling Haaland.

In the three years since, Nunez hasn't quite lived up to expectations. While he had some good moments, they were few and far between, overshadowed by missed chances and frustration.

Not a key player under manager Arne Slot, especially with the arrival of Hugo Ekitike and the potential signing of Alexander Isak, Nunez was keen to move on. His destination is Al Hilal, the Saudi Pro League runners-up.

AC Milan and Juventus showed interest in the forward but there was no concrete bid from the clubs.

Nunez has been given permission to travel to Germany, where Al Hilal are holding their summer training camp, to undergo a medical. If he passes, he will sign with the Saudi Arabian powerhouse.
