'It's obvious what's happening' - Leipzig Sporting Director addresses Sesko rumors
Sesko has been linked with a move away from Leipzig this summer, with a move to the Premier League imminent.
The forward was set to join Leipzig from Arsenal, but both parties were unable to reach an agreement, leaving Newcastle and Manchester United in the race.
However, Newcastle has seen its bid for the striker rejected by Leipzig and will make another bid as soon as possible.
What Marcel said
Following RB Leipzig's 2-1 preseason loss to Atalanta, sporting director Marcel Schäfer addressed the absences of Benjamin Sesko and Xavi Simons.
"Due to substantial interest from several clubs, we decided he wouldn't play today. When I say strong interest and approaches have been made, it's obvious what's happening," Schäfer told Sky Germany, via Abola.
However, the director left the Slovenian international's future uncertain: "I'd like to make it clear that this doesn't mean he's on his way to another club, but it also doesn't mean Benji will play next week."
Regarding Xavi Simons, who has been linked with Chelsea, Schäfer stated his absence was solely due to a neck injury.
