Kakamega Homeboyz head coach Patrick Odhiambo, expressed confidence in his team's preparations as they gear up to face Tusker FC in the highly anticipated FKF Cup final.

The match is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 1 at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

Speaking ahead of the match, Odhiambo provided an update on the team's preparations, highlighting the positive form of his players.

"All my players are in fine form except Moses Mudavadi and Portipher Odhiambo who are nursing some minor injuries," Odhiambo said.

Despite the setbacks, the coach remained optimistic and emphasized the team's determination to deliver a strong performance.

Odhiambo assured the fans that the technical bench is determined to make informed decisions and assemble a formidable team capable of securing victory.

"As the technical bench we will select the best at the end of the ongoing training season for the match," he added.

Recognizing Tusker's experience in playing significant matches and representing Kenya in continental competitions, Odhiambo acknowledged that his side would face a tough challenge.

"Tusker are more experienced than us in terms of playing such big matches as they have also represented Kenya in continental competitions," he continued.

"We expect a very tough game but I know we will succeed and represent Kenya in the CAF Confederation Cup."

The Abana Abeingo secured their place in the FKF Cup final with a commendable performance, defeating AFC Leopards 2-1 in the semifinal clash held on Saturday, May 20.

Tusker, on the other hand, secured their spot in the cup showdown by triumphing over Ulinzi Stars with a 1-0 victory in the semifinals on the same day.

The two teams' impressive journeys to the final have set the stage for an enthralling encounter, promising a display of skill, determination, and passion for Kenyan football enthusiasts.
