Nigerian football icon Nwankwo Kanu has taken to social media to celebrate the birthday of his son, Iain Kachi Kanu.

The Super Eagles legend who etched his name in football history shared a series of touching posts on social media to celebrates his sons special day.

The post by the Nigerian legend featured a family photo featuring Kanu, his wife Amara, and their son Kachi, standing together beside a birthday cake.

Dressed in a traditional outfit, Kanu exuded pride as he posed with his arms around Kachi.

Along with the post was a message that said, "Happy birthday my son IAIN KACHI KANU

"God will give you all your heart desires and God will bless and open every door for you .

"Am happy to see your growth and I thank God.

"Enjoy your birthday me and your mum are very happy and I know one day you will make us proud."

Amara Kanu also celebrated the occasion with a video on her social media account.

Along with the video was a message that said, "Happy 18th Birthday 🥳 @kanuiain What can I say?

Kanu is now retired but is still involved in Nigerian football as he recently accompanied goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali to a funeral.
